Our two big summer recitals are behind us and both of them were such a blast! The Adults Recital at Red Light Cafe featured some killer sets by our four adult ensembles as well as a handful of fantastic solo performers. The Kids & Teens Recital at City Winery was one of our best ever! Our teen bands started the show, and were followed by many great solo performances. It’s always a treat to see the progress our students make each year. Our next performance is the Summer Drum Recital at Waller’s Coffee Shop on July 10th. Can’t wait to see our drummers rock out!
ShedFest this year will include an artist market for the first time and we are looking for more vendors to join the market. The booth fee is $150 for a 10’x10′ space to set up and sell goods. Artists, craft-makers, and anyone interested in joining the market should reach out to us at [[email protected]].
Tickets are now available along with plenty of info about ShedFest at – www.shedfestatl.com
We hope to see you there!

There’s a new drum teacher at the Shed!
Adam is a very patient teacher with years of professional experience on the drums. Born and raised in Massachusetts, he began taking drum lessons at the age of 8. His musical career has taken him to the California Bay Area, New York City, New Orleans and abroad! He has played drums in a variety of settings, from the cafe to the festival stage. Other credentials include cruise ship contracts, musical theater, second line parades, European tours, electronic music production and studio recording experience.
Adam has availability on Sundays between 2:30-6:00. Reach out to the front desk if you’re interested in lessons with Adam!
We are excited to announce that the 3rd annual ShedFest benefit concert will take place on June 12th, 2022 at The Garden Club at Wild Heaven West End.
The proceeds from ShedFest go to the Lanta Gras Music Program and our goal is to raise $1500 – enough for a whole year of music lessons for a scholarship student!
If you are interested in becoming a sponsor, please reach out to the front desk – [email protected] – for more information on sponsorship packages. Buy tickets and learn more about ShedFest on our website here.

The 7th annual Lanta Gras parade is next Saturday, January 29th in Kirkwood! The parade begins at Bessie Branham Park at 1:00 and rolls through the neighborhood, eventually ending up in downtown Kirkwood where the Lanta Gras festival takes place. Fitting the Mardi Gras theme, local restaurants feature New Orleans-inspired menu items and there will be plenty of beads thrown from the parade floats.
We have partnered with Lanta Gras for several years to provide music scholarships to kids in the Kirkwood community. Our annual fundraiser event, ShedFest, aims to raise money for the Lanta Gras Music Program while bringing visibility and awareness to the organization.
The Lanta Gras Parade is a FREE event and is always a blast, so come out next Saturday for some fun floats, tasty bites, and live music! Wear your green, yellow, and purple and get in the Mardi Gras mood!
Greetings Guitar Shedders,
As you are surely aware, we are in the middle of a significant surge in Covid cases and we wanted to give you an update on our current protocol.
We will remain open in person until further notice and will continue to check temperatures, enforce mask-wearing, and sanitize as often as possible. These practices have served us very well in preventing transmission since we re-opened in May of 2021.
Remember that you always have the option to switch lessons to virtual at any time. If you feel any discomfort about the idea of coming in for lessons, don’t hesitate to let us know and we’ll be happy to switch to virtual.
Regarding positive Covid cases among our staff – we are following the current CDC guidelines for quarantine/isolation. Feel free to read more about their recommendations here: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/your-health/quarantine-isolation.html
We hope that everyone is staying safe and looking after your physical and mental health. Fortunately, the Omicron variant has shown to be milder than past variants and the rate of hospitalizations and deaths remains very low, even as cases reach all-time highs.
Thank you for your patience and continued support while navigating this situation.
Let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
Keep Shedding!
