If you are a blues lover, we have some exciting news for you! Guitar Shed will be starting a Blues Ensemble in January, which will be led by Sean McMorris. Members will learn about popular blues styles, iconic tunes, improvisation, and how to play in a group setting. The ensemble will be for adults and, to start, will be open to singers, guitarists, bassists, drummers, and keyboardists.
The ensemble will meet on Sundays from 6:30-7:30 starting on January 16th and the cost of participating will be $30 per rehearsal. Reach out to the front desk for more information if you’re interested!
Rock Ensemble, led by Brandon Marsolo, is an adult band that focuses on rock music and its many subgenres. It features drums, bass guitar, and electric guitar to go along with strong vocals. They have played everything from Smashing Pumpkins to B.B. King to Fleetwood Mac. The band provides students a chance to not only hone their skills as part of a group but a chance to interact with other musicians in a laid-back atmosphere. Rock Ensemble meets Tuesdays at 8:15 pm. The cost of the class is $30 per rehearsal.
Americana Ensemble, led by Max Godfrey, is an adult group that features a lineup of Americana/bluegrass instruments: guitars, banjo, fiddle, upright bass, and mandolin. They play a mixture of styles from old traditional songs to rock ‘n’ roll. The cost is $30 per rehearsal.
Acoustic Ensemble, led by Brandon Marsolo, is Guitar Shed’s newest adult group. They play songs from different genres in acoustic arrangements. The group features several talented singers and focuses a lot on vocal harmonies, strumming patterns, and chord voicings. Acoustic Ensemble meets Wednesdays at 8:00 pm. The cost is $30 per rehearsal.
Guitar Shed has two Teen Band classes for ages 13-17 led by Sean McMorris. Both groups teach young musicians about the responsibility required to be part of a group and how to prepare for performance. Sean’s bands meet Friday from 6:00-7:00 pm and Sunday from 12:45-1:45 pm. The cost is $27.50 per rehearsal.
